The Wii Mommies

My weight has been slowly going up and up over the years, and I've tried a few times to lose it, but I always seem to start with an exercise routine, and then quit after a while... once I stop for any reason, I never seem to get started again. Then I got a Wii Fit after my daughter was born, and I actually stuck with it for a while. It was great, and I started to see results! Then we moved three times within a year, which interrupted my routine and that was then end of that. Now, almost a year later, I've decided "This is it!" I'm going to try again, and I am going to stick with it this time!

My new goal is to lose a pound a week for 13 weeks, which will take me to the beginning of June. I hope I can do it... I'm sure going to give it a try. I'm going to use a combination of Wii Fit Plus, EA Sports Active (which I just got last week, and I'm liking it so far), and a little pilates, and of course I'm going to try to eat healthier. I've been setting small short-term goals with Wii Fit, so that I can actually achieve them. I've been at it a few weeks now, and I have lost a few pounds, which is great, but I'm finding that I really have to watch what I eat otherwise my weight goes back up.

That takes me to the next potential little "snag" in my plan: I was weighing myself every day with Wii Fit, and if my weight went down, even a little I thought "great! This is awesome!", and sometimes I would even reach my goal ahead of time, and I would set a new goal. But if my weight went up, even a little I got pretty discouraged. Then if it went up a couple of days in a row... ohh, boy. One day I was actually ready to quit, because I had worked out pretty hard the previous day, but I read some advice to weigh yourself only once a week. What I decided to do instead, was to mark down on a calendar what I wanted my weight to be at the end of each week. Then no matter what my "goal" on Wii Fit was, as long as I was on track with my original goal, that was ok. That has made me feel much better about doing Body Tests and "goal tracking" with Wii Fit.

So, that's my story so far! I've really just started, and I've got a long way to go, but I'm really looking forward to it!
