By now, everyone has heard about
Julie's weight loss using the Nintendo Wii Fit,
and now Nintendo has come out with the
Wii Fit Plus, which offers busy
individuals a way to stay active without leaving the house and a
way for families to play and have fun together. The game includes
all of the activities from the original
Wii Fit
software and adds in more
than 20 new activities, the ability to customize workouts,
multiplayer mode, a calorie counter, and more. The
Wii Fit Plus
allows you to customize
your workout in two ways – by creating a saved “My Routine” or by
inputting the amount of time you would like to spend working out
(from five minutes up to an hour) and having the game create a
randomized routine to fit that time frame. For example, you can
create and save a workout under “My Routines” and track your
experience as you do this routine daily. You can also utilize the
game to create a quick, randomized workout when you have an extra
10 or 20 minutes that pop up during the day. Experiment with an all
Yoga workout, an all Strength Training workout and a combination of
both.
The Wii Mommies have found five individuals who are unfamiliar with the Nintendo Wii and the Wii Fit Plus to participate in our Citizen Journalist Program, where they analyze specific elements of the Wii Fit Plus assigned to them and submit weekly reports on their findings over a period of three weeks What is a Citizen Journalist? Here's the Wikipedia definition-
Citizen journalism is the concept of members of the public "playing an active role in the process of collecting, reporting, analyzing and disseminating news and information," Authors Bowman and Willis say: "The intent of this participation is to provide independent, reliable, accurate, wide-ranging and relevant information that a democracy requires."
Already have a Wii and a Wii Fit Plus? We want to hear from you as well! There will be a section created within The Wii Mommies website dedicated to the Citizen Journalist Program, where the five journalists selected will submit a weekly report on their progress, complete with a final review summary and we'll also have a section for members who already use the product to add their thoughts and reviews on the Wii Fit Plus as well!
The first artice will be on Monday, March 22, 2009
