A Whole New Mii & A
Makeover
Once I found out I was chosen for the Wii Mommies Citizen
Journalist Program I began a sick obsession. I now have to admit to
you all that I stalked the FedEx trucks in my area for two days.
I’m not proud of my behavior. But there it is in black & white,
I am an obsessive stalker type. Who knew? Luckily my obsession
quickly turned to something else, getting healthy. {More on that
later.} First things first, shopping. Ah, retail therapy. Yes,
before I even received my Wii Fit Plus in the mail, I had made a
purchase. I mean, I was going to the store anyway and just happened
to find something to motivate me. So ya know…I bought something.
And because nothing tells a story better than pictures, here are
some Before and After pictures. You can see for yourself the
magical transformation…

AFTER:

Yes, I gave my Wii Fit Plus board a pre-workout makeover. And you
have to admit it; my board looks thinner already! I tried to
convince myself that it would be more comfortable to have this
board cover, but the truth of the matter is, it looks pretty AND
the comfort is a plus. Win-win.
It was kind of like going out and buying some skinny jeans as
motivation for myself, except I knew this would FIT!
Psychologically this little trick worked wonders for me. I figured
if the board looked more comfortable and sort of “customized” I
would want to hang out with it more. It worked and we have
bonded.
Once my board was all dolled up, I began to read the instructions
for setting up everything else.
I am an instructions person. My 12 year-old Nephew helped me with
the set up. As I read aloud, he installed the “thingamajiggers”
into the right places. It was fairly straightforward as a small
pamphlet for “Quick Install” was included. It sure beats reading
the 30+ Page Operations Manual for the System Setup.
I mean I did read it, {of course} but the small pamphlet hit all
the highlights. I imagine the bigger booklet is just to be used in
case you need to trouble shoot a problem which thankfully, we did
not.
After the initial system setup, I will admit that I was a little
intimidated so I let my Nephew take matters into his own hands. He
knew exactly where to go to set Mii up. In hindsight, I really
think he just wanted to play so he sped thru the Mii set up on
purpose.
I followed along, but apparently I missed a crucial step. So a few
days later when I tried to set up a Mii for my mom, I got all
turned around. Wonderful! {Insert eye roll}
This convinced me of one thing, I should have done it for myself
the first time because I was wasting precious Wii playing minutes
going in circles. The good news is I eventually DID figure it out
and now I am the “Official Mii” setter upper. And as a bonus, I did
it without reading any instructions. {Score!}
Next week I’ll introduce you to my mini Mii, discuss what happened
when I actually stepped on and how the Wii Fit Plus gave me some
awesome super powers.
