Do you let the fit board pick your routine or do you pick your own?

Do you let the fit board pick the exercises or do you pick your own? I went to pick my own and couldn't figure out which would work best for a 30 minute routine. All the exercises I wanted to do would have taken me much longer. Letting the board pick in the time frame I had to work with was ok. Any suggestions on what to pick if I want to tone my stomach, legs and arms?

I generally create my own routine from the yoga and strength training options offered in the My Routines mode. I usually start My Routine with about 5 minutes of yoga (usually side bend, sun salutation, cobra and down facing dog) for a pre-workout stretch. During my workout I try to always include things like the plank, jackknife, push up/side plank and lunge for toning abs, arms and legs. I generally do two or more sets of each along with other exercises. After that I do 20-30 minutes of aerobics (usually varying combinations of free step, boxing, hula hoop, and free run). I end with the same yoga moves as earlier for a post workout stretch. My workouts are generally 45-60 minutes long but that is because I do more reps of the exercises in the My Routine mode. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip. I started out strecthing with yoga poses and then moved on to the strength exercises. It was a good 29 minue workout and I started to work up a sweat. The push up side plank exercise is tough. It doesn't help that the palms of my hands are usually sweaty by the time the exercise comes around. What is your favorite exercises?

Yeah the push up side plank is tough that's why I do it at the beginning of my actual workout. I try to do the hardest things first. My new favorite thing is that boxing. I just have to master that so I can unlock more time. Between that and the the free step. With the free step I do more than just the step up step down. I create my own routines for that and just make sure I keep the rhythm. I love yoga, I just wish I could do it vinyasa flow style instead of stopping between exercises. I don't really do a lot of the balance activities cause I am focusing on burning fat and increasing my level of fitness. I just started doing it Christmas day so I am still pretty new to it but I love it!

I always just went through every single Yoga & strength I could (my knees don't like too many squats or lunges - which is what my butt needs most) and then did the hula hoop but I'd just test out different things and see what you like the best. You'd be surprised how the tightrope can help your thighs!
